About the Role Weare seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Musculoskeletal andPaediatrics team at Christchurch Hospital. This specialist service provides acute andongoing care for patients with a range of clinical presentations including Burns and Plastics, Ear Nose and Throat, Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology along withliers on the ward. Inthis role, you will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team to support early mobilisation, respiratory care, functional recovery, and acute inpatient rehabilitation. The caseload is diverse, challenging, and oftensignificantly affects patients lives, offering the opportunity to make impactson patient and whānau outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide physiotherapy assessment andintervention for acute inpatients Deliver early mobilisation, respiratoryphysiotherapy and functional retraining Contribute to positioning strategies for thosewith complex wounds Work closely with medical, nursing,occupational therapy, assistant staff and specialist teams Support coordinated discharge planning andongoing rehabilitation needs Educate patients and whānau on self'management,exercise, and long'term recovery Participate in service development, audits, andquality improvement initiatives Supervise and mentor rotational physiotherapistsand final year physiotherapy students Participate in peer review and supervisionstructure You will be requiredto contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters. About the Team/Service/ Location This role is part of the Christchurch Hospital Physiotherapyteam, with over 60 roles across a large range of specialties and morespecifically sits within the Musculoskeletal & Paediatric cluster, a teamof approximately 20 physiotherapists. This cluster is a skilled andcollaborative team that prides itself on high'quality, evidence'based care anda culture of mutual support delivering effective physiotherapy across diverseclinical settings.
