About the Role We’re looking for a hands‑on Restaurant Supervisor to support the Restaurant & Operations Manager in the daily running of Sage. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional ready to step into a leadership role and grow within a dynamic luxury brand. You’ll help ensure smooth daily operations, lead service, and guide the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience every time. Key Responsibilities Assist and oversee, when required, daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth, professional service. Lead and motivate the front‑of‑house team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Act as the senior manager on shift in the absence of the Restaurant & Operations Manager. Manage reservations, floor operations, and guest flow. Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team for seamless service coordination. Support stock management, supplier relationships, and ordering. Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations. Assist with private dining and events in our luxury villas. Support training, onboarding, and team development. Contribute ideas to elevate the Sage and Paroa Bay Winery guest experience. Accommodation may be available for the right candidate About You Minimum 2 years’ experience in a restaurant supervisory or duty manager role. LCQ and Manager’s Certificate (or ability to obtain). Confident leader with excellent communication and guest service skills. Experience in premium or fine‑dining hospitality preferred. Experience in multiple Northland winery restaurants preferred. Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences. Good computer literacy and confidence using hospitality software Eligible to work in New Zealand. Bonus points if you also have experience in: Vineyard work Wine production or cellar door operations Training and mentoring staff Event or wedding service Living in or having a good understanding of Northland and the Bay of Islands The Location This role is based at Paroa Bay Winery, Russell, Bay of Islands — an area known for its pristine beaches, world‑class fishing, and relaxed coastal lifestyle.
