The Foundation Village Partnership – Parnell, North Island An opportunity to join The Foundation in Parnell, where considered design, refined service and attention to detail shape daily life for a discerning resident community. Located within the newly opened Abbott Residences of The Foundation, the boutique Awhina Care Suites will provide a discreet and highly personalised care environment, exclusive to residents of The Foundation. About the Role This bespoke care environment will support residents requiring respite, rest home, hospital-level, palliative and memory care for low to moderate dementia. It will also support The Foundation’s continuum of care proposition, extending to in-apartment care services. We are seeking experienced, capable Senior Healthcare Assistants who combine practical care skills with genuine warmth and discretion. You will support residents with daily routines, personal care, comfort and wellbeing, while helping create confidence and reassurance for residents, families and colleagues . In this role, you will work closely with the Registered Nurse and Care Supervisor, follow personalised care plans, observe and report changes in resident wellbeing, and contribute to a calm, consistent and highly personalised care experience. Assist residents with daily routines, comfort, personal care, nutrition, hydration, mobility, activities and wellbeing, while supporting dignity, independence and familiar preferences. Review and administer medications in accordance with GP prescriptions, ensuring comprehensive assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of resident outcomes following medication administration to promote safe and effective care. Support residents requiring respite, rest home, hospital-level, palliative or memory care for low to moderate dementia, ensuring care is respectful, responsive and aligned with each resident’s personalised care plan. Observe, document and promptly report changes in resident wellbeing, health status or care needs to the Registered Nurse, supporting safe and timely clinical oversight. Seeking individuals and have AM, PM and night shifts available. About You You are a warm, observant and capable Senior Healthcare Assistant who combines practical care with genuine human connection. You take time to know each resident, notice what matters, and work with empathy, respect and professionalism while maintaining safe, consistent standards of care. Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in aged care, hospital, disability support or another relevant care setting. A First Aid Certificate, NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, medication competency and/or Medi-Map competency, or willingness to complete required competencies relevant to the role. Confidence supporting residents with personal care, daily routines, mobility, nutrition, hydration, continence care and general wellbeing. Sound observation and reporting skills, with the ability to recognise and elevate changes in resident wellbeing or care needs appropriately. Confidence using electronic documentation, medication or resident management systems, or the ability to learn these systems quickly. rxcellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the confidence to engage respectfully and professionally with residents, families, colleagues and external health professionals.
