Working alongside the Southern Service Manager, you'll provide visible clinical leadership, mentor and develop staff, champion evidence-informed practice, and help shape safe, recovery-focused services that make a lasting difference for tangata. Mō Te Tūranga | About The role As our Clinical Team Leader, you'll provide both clinical and operational leadership across our Southern residential services. You'll work alongside Support Workers, the Registered Nurse and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen professional practice, support complex clinical decision‑making, develop staff capability and promote continuous quality improvement. This is a unique opportunity to remain connected to frontline practice while influencing how clinical care is delivered across the service. Your days will include: Providing visible clinical leadership and mentoring registered and unregistered staff. Coaching teams to deliver safe, recovery-focused and evidence-informed care. Supporting complex clinical decision-making, recovery planning and therapeutic practice. Leading quality improvement, clinical governance and auditing activities. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external health providers. Supporting workforce planning, rostering and service development. Promoting a positive, psychologically safe and high-performing team culture. Participating in the Southern Services on‑call roster. Mōu | About you You're a registered health professional who enjoys helping others grow. You combine strong clinical judgement with compassionate leadership and understand how coaching, mentoring and reflective practice contribute to better outcomes for both staff and tangata. You thrive in collaborative environments, confidently influence clinical practice and enjoy balancing direct service involvement with leadership responsibilities. Must Have: A recognised bachelor's degree (or equivalent) leading to professional registration. Current registration and Annual Practising Certificate with the appropriate New Zealand professional body (e.g. Social Workers Registration Board, Nursing Council of New Zealand or Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand). At least three years' post‑registration clinical experience within mental health, disability or community services. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. Strong understanding of recovery‑focused and evidence‑informed practice. Excellent communication, coaching and relationship‑building skills. Current Full New Zealand Driver Licence. Current legal right to work in New Zealand. Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health or a related discipline. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Clinical supervision training. Experience leading quality improvement or clinical governance initiatives. Medication competency assessor qualification. Experience working within residential mental health services.
