Our Business Manulife Investment Management Forest Management (NZ) Limited (MFM (NZ)) has been managing forests in Aotearoa since 2004 on behalf of Manulife Investment Management Timberland and Agriculture Inc’s (MIMTA) clients. MIMTA is one of the world’s largest and most experienced timberland investment managers and is part of Manulife’s Global Wealth and Asset Management business. In New Zealand, MFM (NZ) manages approximately 200,000 hectares of plantation forest, harvesting around 4 million tonnes annually. The Role We’re looking for a motivated forestry professional with harvesting experience to join our team. While this role is based out of our Tokoroa office, we’re open to candidates living across the wider Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, for example Rotorua, Taupō, Cambridge and surrounding areas. A company vehicle is provided, and our vehicle policy supports free reasonable commuting (up to 100kms), giving you flexibility in where you choose to live. There is also flexibility for some administrative tasks to be completed from home when appropriate. This is a key operational role, responsible for supervising harvesting crews across our Central Region. You’ll be leading the charge on health and safety, value recovery, log quality, environmental compliance and production performance. This role is ideal for someone with solid practical harvesting experience who is looking to further develop their leadership capability. We’re keen to hear from people with experience in cable harvesting systems, contractor and crew management experience and/or environmental management. We’re also looking for someone with strong relationship management skills and leadership potential so they can contribute to the wider team culture and objectives.
