Civil Engineer

We specialise in residential land subdivision, site earthworks, drainage design, retaining-wall engineering and council consent applications across Auckland region. We closely work with local surveyors, subcontractors and Auckland Council to deliver compliant infrastructure projects following NZS standards and NewZealand Building Code. Position Summary We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our team. You will undertake civil design, council consent applications, site inspections and provide technical support throughout construction works. Key Responsibilities 1.Conduct site inspections, land assessments, topographic review and feasibility studies for land-subdivision, earthworks, drainage and roading projects, prepare detailed site analysis reports. 2.Design civil-engineering components including surface-water drainage systems, vehicle access ways, retaining walls, ground-improvement solutions in compliance with NZ Building Code, NZS standards and Auckland Council requirements. 3.Prepare engineering drawings, design specifications, calculation reports, consent documents and supporting information to submit resource-consent and building-consent applications to Auckland Council. 4.Review construction plans prepared by subcontractors, monitor onsite construction progress, check workmanship, verify works comply with approved designs and engineer’s specifications; issue site instructions and inspection reports. 5.Liaise withsurveyors, builders, contractors and clients, attend project meetings, resolve technical-related site issues during construction phase. 6.Prepare cost estimates, material schedules, construction methodologies, monitor project budgets, provide professional advice on construction techniques and risk-mitigation plans. 7.Review tender documents, assess subcontractor technical submissions, carry out quality control for civil-engineering works. 8.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NewZealand civil-engineering regulations, local-council bylaws and industry best practices. Requirements 1. A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification with a major in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering. 2. Candidates with practical civil-engineering working experience are highly preferred. 3. Competent with engineering calculation, technical report-writing and design documentation. 4. Good communication skills to liaise with council representatives and subcontractors.
