Job Description
Connect NZ Electrical Limited is looking for 2 HVAC Technicians to join our team in Auckland. As part of this role, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards (but not limited to): Determining job requirements from drawings and specifications and establish installation reference points. Drilling holes, installing mounting brackets, and preparing piping by cutting, bending, and threading. Installing and repairing components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges, and copper lines for various systems including steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil, and chilled water. Connecting equipment by bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing pipes, ensuring proper alignment and fit. Filling systems with gas or fluid to test for leaks. Testing and operating refrigeration systems, check mechanisms, and make necessary adjustments. Using vacuum pumps to remove test gas and fluid, and fill systems with refrigerant. Inspecting and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, and repairing or replacing defective components. Adjusting controls and mechanisms, and reassembling systems as needed. Documenting the causes of malfunctions and the corrective actions taken. Marking up plans for as built diagrams to indicate installations completed. The employee shall observe health and safety regulations and shall report and make recommendations to the Employer on any relevant issue in that regard Qualification, Experience and Attributes Required 2-3 years of work experience, preferably as an Air Conditioning/HVAC Technician, Air Conditioning /HVAC Assistant, Mechanical or Electrical Trade Assistant, OR a relevant level 4 or higher qualification. Electrical knowledge with an electrical A & B practicing certificate will be an advantage but not mandatory. Understanding of Health and Safety requirements. Availability to work on the weekends or public holidays if required. Reference check from your employer(s). Minimum of 30 hours/week guaranteed.
