Job Description

Pacific Lakes Village is a premium retirement village in Pāpāmoa, created for residents who value quality, connection and a considered way of life. At the heart of the newly opened, award-winning Pavilion is Wai Café & Brasserie - a beautifully designed hospitality precinct overlooking the lake, with a café, brasserie, lounge bar, outdoor terrace, and multiple function spaces. Since opening in late 2025, The Pavilion and Wai Café & Brasserie have quickly become a popular and much-loved part of village life, bringing together daily café service, resident events, private gatherings and relaxed evening dining experiences built around fresh, seasonal ingredients. We are looking for an experienced Hospitality Manager to lead the food and beverage operations across Pacific Lakes Village. This is a key appointment for a hospitality professional who takes pride in building teams, refining service systems and creating an experience that feels seamless, personal and beautifully considered. About The Role This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that excellent service feels effortless because the preparation, systems and teamwork behind it are strong. You will lead the front-of-house team, set the rhythm for daily service, and bring consistency, structure and polish to a hospitality offering that is already loved by residents. Working closely with the kitchen team to deliver an excellent F&B experience - daily service, resident dining, functions and events. Excellent communication skills will be essential, as you will work closely with residents, families, team members, suppliers and the wider village team to ensure service flows smoothly and residents feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. Key responsibilities include: Lead day-to-day food and beverage operations across Wai Café & Brasserie, the lounge bar, functions and associated hospitality spaces. Set the tone for polished front-of-house service, ensuring residents and guests receive attentive, professional and seamless hospitality. Develop and maintain practical service systems, standard operating procedures, opening and closing routines, and clear team expectations. Work closely with the kitchen team on menus, service flow, resident dining requirements, functions and events. Recruit, roster, train, mentor and support food and beverage team members. Manage stock, supplier coordination, POS processes, reporting and cost-effective use of resources. Ensure food safety, responsible service of alcohol, health and safety, emergency procedures and sustainability practices are understood and followed. About You You will bring proven hospitality leadership experience, strong organisational skills and the confidence to lead service in a setting where quality, presentation, communication, relationships and resident experience all matter. You will demonstrate: Proven experience leading food and beverage or front-of-house operations in a quality hospitality environment. A polished, service-led manner, excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with residents, guests and colleagues. Strong team leadership skills, including recruitment, rostering, training, coaching and setting clear service standards. Strong organisational skills, with confidence developing practical service procedures, systems and daily routines. Good commercial awareness, including stock control, ordering, reporting, POS use and cost-conscious decision-making. A calm, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage service, support the team and maintain attention to detail in a premium environment. Applicants must have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa and will be required to undergo Police vetting. Generus Living Collection Pacific Lakes Village is part of the Generus Living Collection. Generus Living Group is a privately owned New Zealand company with a strong reputation for developing and managing exceptional retirement villages of impeccable quality in Auckland, Mt Maunganui and Christchurch for a discerning senior market. #J-18808-Ljbffr
