Leading Hand - CHB Apples

We're looking for a driven and dependable Leading Hand to join our Apples Team in Ongaonga Central Hawkes Bay. As a Leading Hand, you'll be responsible for all aspects of in-field operations, including pest and disease, staff supervision, record keeping, and machinery tasks. You will have the opportunity to train staff on seasonal tasks, onboard new teams and assist with the general running of teams as guided by orchard management. You'll need: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and communicate with large teams through seasonal tasks like pruning, thinning, and harvesting Good work experience in the horticulture industry Ability to implement and communicate job sheets National Certificate in Horticulture Level 4 or equivalent experience Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment Good time management, and ability to meet daily deadlines A safety comes first attitude and ability to identify hazards and risks in the field To be familiar with pip fruit pest and disease best practices including identification and control methods About Craigmore Horticulture Craigmore NZ Limited bring investments into the agricultural sector through orchard, forestry and farming operations all over New Zealand.
