Fuel/Bitumen Systems Maintenance Technician Ewing Construction – Christchurch, South Island This is a hands‑on role working on fuel storage and dispensing infrastructure at petroleum terminals throughout New Zealand. From a service vehicle, you’ll carry out preventive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations while working independently and as part of a professional team. Key responsibilities Inspecting, servicing and repairing fuel storage systems. Maintaining fuel transfer pipework, valves, pumps, filters and associated equipment. Repairing and replacing mechanical fuel gauges and tank gauging systems. Installing and modifying fuel pipework and mechanical components. Pressure testing and leak testing fuel systems. Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs. Assisting with commissioning of new fuel installations. Completing maintenance reports and service documentation. Working safely within hazardous fuel environments while complying with all Health & Safety requirements. About you Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem‑solving skills. Experience in mechanical maintenance, industrial pipework or fuel systems. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and customer service skills. A current full New Zealand driver’s licence. A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail. A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance. Experience working on petroleum fuel systems (advantageous). Welding experience (advantageous).
