About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Child andAdolescent (iCAMHS) Psychiatrist to join our supportive Mental Health &Addictions Service (MHAS). As an iCAMHS Psychiatrist, you will play a crucialrole in providing comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment,diagnosis, and treatment planning for our young patients experiencing mild tosevere mental health disorders. Your work will directly contribute to improvingthe mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents in our community. You will work collaboratively within askilled multidisciplinary team, contributing clinical leadership, guidance, andexpertise across the full continuum of care. This includes participating in MDTmeetings, case reviews, consultation-liaison, and supporting integrated carepathways with schools, hauora providers, paediatric services, and communityagencies. In this role, you will: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations andassessments for infant, young children, and youth with serious mentalhealth conditions up to aged 18 years in Marlborough Community. Develop and implement individualised treatment plans,utilising evidence-based practices. Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary teamincluding psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupationaltherapists, and social workers. Provide consultation and support to families andcaregivers. Have a passion for delivering high quality, evidencebased, culturally responsive,and effective healthcare. About the Team/Service/ Location Wairau's iCAMHS is a small, well-established, and highly collaborativeteam based within Health NZ, Nelson Marlborough's Mental Health &Addictions Service. The team supports tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānauacross the Marlborough region, delivering community-based and outpatient mentalhealth care. The service includes experienced mental health nurses, psychologists,social workers, an occupational therapist, and access to cultural support andpeer expertise. The team works closely with Nelson-based colleagues, paediatricservices, schools, and local NGOs to ensure seamless, wrap-around support foryoung people. You'll be joining a friendly, supportive, and progressive servicecommitted to early intervention, holistic care, and continuous improvement. About you The ideal applicant will: Bring your experience and knowledge of attachment,the impact of adverse childhood events, developmental disorders, andchildhood mental health disorders to contribute to advanced care of thepopulation in theMarlborough region. Hold Fellowship or Membership of the Royal Australianand New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent. Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate andVocational Registration of Psychiatry with the Medical Council of NewZealand. Have at least two years post-registration experiencewith iCAMHS inpatients or outpatients in clinical setting. Have up-to-date knowledge of current research,treatments, and guidelines relating to major mental health issues ofchildren and youth. Have some experience in liaison / consultation withother agencies, e.g working with community services such as OrangaTamariki, schools, GPs and local Maori networks, or internationallyequivalent services. Strong commitment to patient-centred care andcontinuous professional development.
