Department of Corrections – Otakou, South Island About this role Administration Officer - Gore Help reduce re-offending and build safer communities. This is a busy and rewarding role where you'll provide essential administrative support to Probation Officers and frontline staff while helping to keep the Service Centre running smoothly. You’ll be the first point of contact for people serving community-based sentences, members of the public, service providers, and a range of internal and external stakeholders. No two days are the same, and you’ll enjoy plenty of variety while contributing to the Department’s goal of reducing re-offending and creating safer communities. This fast-paced role will suit someone who enjoys being part of a strong team, can adapt quickly, multitask effectively, follow established policies and procedures, and use sound judgement when prioritising work. (Please note: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, worked Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm) Mōu | About you We are looking for a professional, reliable, and people-focused team member who brings: Strong experience and knowledge of office administration. Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to helping others. Strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage competing priorities. A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships. Confidence engaging with people from all backgrounds while remaining professional and non-judgemental. High integrity and the ability to manage sensitive and personal information appropriately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new systems quickly. A full New Zealand Driver Licence. Ngā painga | The benefits The salary range for this position is $61,086 - $64,659 per annum . Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
