About the Role As the Ward Administrator within the MedicalService, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smoothday-to-day operation of the department. Working closely with clinical andadministrative teams, you will manage patient administration processes,coordinate referrals and waitlists, support admission and discharge activities,maintain department supplies, and deliver high-quality customer service. The role plays a key part in supporting efficientpatient flow and achieving Te Whatu Ora South Canterbury booking standards and targetsunder the guidance of the Clinical Nurse Manager. About You We are looking for an organised and proactiveadministrator with strong office administration and Microsoft Office skills,excellent communication abilities, and a high level of accuracy and attentionto detail. You will be able to work effectively in a busy environment,prioritise tasks, maintain confidentiality, and build positive relationshipswith patients, staff, and the wider community. Experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge ofpatient information systems would be an advantage. Most importantly, you willbe a reliable team player who demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and acommitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and quality patient care. It is essential that you havethe following: Soundexperience in office administration Competent Microsoft office skills - WindowsOS, Outlook, Word, Excel Effective written/oral communication andinterpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with diverse range ofpublic and staff. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
