Want To Take Your Career To The Stratosphere? At Kea Aerospace, we're on a mission to create insights from the stratosphere that will improve life on our planet. We're developing the Kea Atmos, a solar-powered, remotely piloted aircraft that will fly continuously in the stratosphere for months at a time. Operating at 60,000 feet above sea level, the Atmos will collect high-resolution aerial imagery and data across vast areas, bridging crucial information gaps for environmental monitoring, forestry management, precision agriculture, disaster response, and maritime surveillance. This summer, join our small team to build something that matters. We're after people who are in it for the mission - curious builders and problem-solvers who want to get stuck into real aerospace engineering. What you'll be working on Real engineering challenges that help get our aircraft into the stratosphere. Depending on your strengths, that might include: Component design and CAD modelling Development and testing of electrical systems Development and support of software applications Avionics and component integration Manufacturing support General workshop tasks Documenting your work The opportunity Four summer internships, each focused on a different part of our aircraft development. You'll work alongside our engineering team using real tools and test facilities. Duration: 10 weeks, 400 hours total Timing: Flexible start, but must begin before 1 December and be completed by 31 March Eligibility: Engineering students currently enrolled in NZ university, or graduated in NZ within the last 12 months Sounds like you? Creative, detail-oriented students excited about aerospace. Experience that fits well: Mechatronics, software, electrical and/or mechanical engineering CAD design and 3D modelling Electronics and circuit design Programming (full-stack or embedded) Hands-on builds - personal projects, competition robots, workshop work We also value clear communication, a practical approach, and a positive attitude. #J-18808-Ljbffr
