We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Maintenance & Project Engineer to lead our maintenance strategy while driving capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing site. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Maintenance & Project Engineer to lead our maintenance strategy while driving capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing site. About the Role This is a hands-on role; you will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of equipment and systems to support food production processes. This role requires technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the production sites. The duties are outlined below are not limited or restricted to this and they may change from time to time. Such tasks may include (and not limited to) the following: Key Responsibilities Equipment Design and Installation Design, specify, and procure equipment and machinery for food production processes. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed engineering projects. Process Improvement and Optimization Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Implement Lean manufacturing principles and best practices to streamline production processes. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve equipment and process-related issues. Preventive Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize reliability. Perform equipment inspections and condition assessments to identify maintenance needs and prioritize work orders. Implement reliability engineering techniques to improve equipment performance and longevity. Safety and Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. Participate in safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Provide engineering support for process safety management programs and risk assessments. Project Management Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget. Communicate project status updates and milestones to stakeholders and senior management. About You You are an experienced engineering professional who enjoys solving technical challenges while leading improvement projects. You will ideally have: Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering. Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance or project engineering role within manufacturing. Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and asset management. Experience managing capital projects and equipment installations. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with electrical knowledge. Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and automated production lines is an advantage. Excellent project management and organisational skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities. A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
