Job Description

The Alpine Group – Queenstown, South Island The Alpine Group is a family-owned business based in Wanaka, operating brands including Alpine Helicopters, Minaret Station, Southern Lakes Heliski and Southern Lakes Helibike. Alpine Helicopters provides a wide range of aerial services under NZCAA Part 135 certification, in addition to providing intracompany support to our tourism brands. Services include but are not limited to filming, fire suppression, heli-skiing, hunting, lifting, pest control, scenic & charter work as well as venison recovery. The company has bases at Wanaka and Queenstown Airports, but also operates remotely throughout the South Island at various locations from time to time. The current fleet is made up of AS350 & MD500 models. About the role: This position leads the team that focuses on ensuring seamless and proficient day-to-day aviation operations. The role is also pivotal in ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in all aspects of aviation operations. It requires excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, initiative and organisation to a high level. The successful applicant will enjoy solving operational problems, have a natural affinity for scheduling, dispatching and coordinating and will take pride in their work. You will have a high level of attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and multi task whilst remaining calm and professional. Key tasks include; Management of Aviation co-ordination team including ensuring appropriate staff cover Preparing and maintaining pilot, ground crew and administration rosters Booking, scheduling and coordination of operations in conjunction with aviation operations coordinators, Chief/Duty Pilot, and Other Divisional Managers. Flight following including radio communications Develop and maintain strong communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations Oversee documentation and reporting related to aviation operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness (concessions, reporting, and regulatory administration) Oversee operations are completed as per the operations manual and exposition Oversee aircraft maintenance schedule and plan with Maintenance Controller and Chief Pilot Qualifications and Experience Experienced aviation operations and administration. Previous regulatory administration experience with a keen interest in the aviation/tourism sectors. Knowledge of CAA regulations and requirements and health and safety systems.
