Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for leading the technical delivery of geotechnical engineering projects while maintaining high standards of professional practice, project performance and client service. The role includes providing technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, managing client relationships, and contributing to the continued success and growth of the client. Project Related Lead the planning, investigation, analysis and design of geotechnical engineering projects. Deliver practical and technically sound geotechnical solutions in accordance with New Zealand standards and industry best practice. Plan, supervise and interpret field investigations, site testing and laboratory testing programmes. Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation and engineering recommendations. Manage project scope, programme, budget and resources to achieve agreed client outcomes. Prepare fee proposals, project scopes and cost estimates. Provide construction support, including site observations, quality assurance and technical advice. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and regulatory authorities. Mentor, supervise and provide technical guidance to graduate and intermediate engineers. Coordinate project delivery with internal staff, external consultants and specialist service providers. Contribute to continuous improvement through technical leadership, innovation and knowledge sharing. Company Related Represent the client professionally in all interactions with clients, colleagues and stakeholders. Actively participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing development of the wider team. Comply with all company health and safety, quality assurance and environmental management requirements. Plan and manage workload to consistently deliver high-quality work within agreed timeframes. Complete project administration and documentation in accordance with company quality systems. Participate in technical reviews to maintain the quality and consistency of engineering deliverables. Qualifications Skills/Requirements of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer include but are not limited to: A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum 7–10 years' relevant geotechnical engineering experience. Demonstrated knowledge of New Zealand geotechnical engineering practice and standards. Proficiency in the use of geotechnical engineering software, such as liquefaction, slope and settlement analysis. Strong project management, communication, leadership and technical report writing skills. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or active progression towards registration. #J-18808-Ljbffr
