Find out more at https://advancedgroup.co.nz/advanced-security-home/ THE ROLE As a Security Technician your role will include electronic security installations, and commissioning of electronic security systems on our corporate and government sites. While the primary focus is installation and project delivery, the role also provides support to the Service team by undertaking maintenance and fault response activities as required to meet business and customer needs. This is a permanent, full-time role, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll also participate in a rotating on-call roster to ensure 24/7 availability for prompt response and support to our customers, with reasonable compensation paid for availability and callouts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Install and commission electronic security systems (IP-based and wired) Perform system programming, configuration, testing, and pre-commissioning. Read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Support service activities, including fault-finding and preventative maintenance, as required. Maintain accurate documentation, including installation records, service reports, and timesheets. Attain and maintain required certifications, staying current with relevant security systems, standards, and training. Adhere to company and client health and safety policies and procedures at all times. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE As you’d expect, technical skills are important. We’ll be looking to be impressed by your solid background working with access control and CCTV systems, and your knowledge of IT systems and networking. Equally vital though will be your ability to strike up a conversation and communicate well with both clients and colleagues. Minimum 3 Years of relevant experience preferred Experience with CCTV systems; Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec preferred IT systems and networking experience is advantageous Good written and verbal communication, with good interpersonal and customer service skills. Accurate and methodical work habits, a strong work ethic, and reasonable fitness. Clean criminal record and must be legally able to drive in New Zealand Due to the nature of our customer environments, the successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Government Security Vetting clearance. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for this clearance, including being a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident (or, in some cases, holding a New Zealand residence class visa with indefinite stay rights), and having a verifiable background history that can be assessed as suitable for security clearance. Applicants will generally need to have resided continuously in New Zealand, or one or more of the following countries — Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States — for at least the previous five years, or since the age of 18 where applicable.
