Yardman Forklift Operator

We're placing an experienced Yardman or Yardlady with a well-established scrap metal and recycling operation in Penrose/Onehunga. This isn't a clean warehouse job — it's a physical, fast-paced yard role where you'll be hands-on from day one, interacting with up to 100 customers daily. What's in It for You: $28.50/hr, paid weekly 55–60 hours per week on offer Monday–Friday, 6:00am–5:00pm (11-hour shifts) Saturdays, 6:00am–12:00pm (typically fortnightly, occasionally back-to-back) Genuine temp-to-perm pathway The Role: Operating a counterbalance forklift to move and manage scrap metal throughout the yard Weighing bales, recording weights, and tagging materials accurately Sorting, organising, and moving product across the yard Operating a baler/guillotine as required General yard duties — keeping the site safe, tidy, and running efficiently What We're Looking For: Current counterbalance forklift licence Strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in — experience in yard, plant, scrap, or heavy industrial environments is a bonus Comfortable in a physically demanding, loud, outdoor environment Positive attitude towards customers, no matter the day MOJ check, pre-employment drug test, and strong work references required Valid NZ working rights essential This role suits someone who isn't afraid of hard work and takes pride in doing a job properly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
