As a Business Improvement Analyst, you'll help transform the way HR and Payroll services are delivered across NZDF. You'll partner with teams, redesign processes, facilitate workshops, drive innovation, and make meaning change happen. In this role you'll: Challenge the status quo and seek out opportunities to improve the way we work. Lead workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to uncover challenges and spark great ideas. Analyse and map business processes, identifying ways to create simpler and smarter experiences. Use data, insights, and stakeholder feedback to inform recommendations and drive improvement. Gather and document business requirements, translating them into practical solutions. Deliver sustainable improvements and help embed Agile and continuous improvement practices across the organisation. Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven experience in business analysis, process improvement, or continuous improvement environments, along with the ability to build strong relationships and influence positive change. You'll also have: Experience analysing, documenting, and improving business processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills. The ability to gather, interpret, and document business requirements and translate them into practical solutions. Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work through complex issues and identify improvement opportunities. Experience developing business cases, process maps, and supporting documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to a range of audiences. A continuous improvement mindset, ideally supported by experience with Lean‑Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, or similar methodologies. Experience working with HR, Payroll, SAP HCM, or other enterprise systems would be advantageous, but is not essential. The salary band for this role starts at $119,707 and has a midpoint of $132,890 inclusive of the 4% employer superannuation contribution. Eligibility and Security Clearance You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa. At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years. You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
