About the role Imagine seeing a product you helped develop on the shelves or in use by businesses, knowing you played a key role in bringing it to life! We’re seeking a Product Development Technologist to join our Innovation team in Mount Maunganui. Reporting to the Innovation Manager, you’ll work alongside a team of passionate technologists, providing technical product support, driving product improvements, and solving quality and safety challenges. In this hands-on role, you’ll work with our portfolio of margarine, shortenings, specialty fats, and bulk oils, while also contributing to the development of value-added nutritional oil blends for infant formula products. You’ll collaborate on innovative projects, helping to push the boundaries of product development and ensuring the highest quality and functionality in everything we create. What you’ll be doing: Leading new products from ideas and customer requests through to commercialisation. Partnering with customers and stakeholders on formulation, project progress, specifications, and quality testing. Organising and running manufacturing and application trials for new products. Driving continuous improvement in product formulations and manufacturing processes. Ensuring compliance with customer requirements and destination market standards. Providing strong technical support across the technical team and wider business. What are we looking for? We’re after someone with a sharp eye for detail, a passion for problem-solving, and a drive for innovation. Ideally, you’ll bring: A tertiary qualification in Science, Food Technology, or a related field. 3+ years’ experience in product development (preferred but not essential). Experience in food manufacturing and solid knowledge of production processes. Familiarity with FSANZ and other food regulations (an advantage, but not essential). Why Join Us? This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) offering a salary of $85,000–$95,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
