About the Role We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Outpatients team at Waikato Hospital. This role provides the opportunity to work across chemotherapy day stay, outpatient clinics and radiation oncology services, supporting patients throughout their cancer treatment journey. You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, high-quality care. About the Team/Service The Oncology Outpatient Service provides specialist care for patients across the Waikato region. Our service encompasses medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology services, supporting patients through treatment and follow-up care. Nurses work across outpatient clinics and our 25-chair chemotherapy day stay unit, delivering systemic anti-cancer therapy, blood transfusions, patient education and supportive care. Within clinics, nurses undertake patient assessment, manage treatment-related complications and acute presentations, lead nurse-led clinics, provide patient and whānau education, and contribute to care coordination. We support patients receiving concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as those requiring short-and long-term follow-up. Within radiation oncology, nurses support specialist clinics and assist with procedures including brachytherapy. Our service operates Monday to Friday, with rostered shifts between 0800-1630 and 1000-1830. Nurses will rotate between the chemotherapy day stay and outpatient clinics, providing a varied role with opportunities to develop specialist knowledge and skills across multiple areas of cancer care. About You We are looking for a Registered Nurse who: Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate and is eligible to work in New Zealand Has experience in oncology, haematology or acute care nursing (preferred) Is committed to delivering equitable, patient and whānau-centred care Demonstrates an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in healthcare practice Demonstrates strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills Works effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment Holds chemotherapy administration and CVAD certification (preferred but not essential, as training and support can be provided).
