As the communications landscape continues to evolve, we are building a modern, integrated function that uses innovation, audience insight, and compelling storytelling to inform, engage, and build trust. As Manager – Brand, Content and Delivery, you will lead Police’s external highly regarded communications channels, ensuring our brand, content and digital presence effectively engage the public and support trust and confidence in New Zealand Police. Working closely with senior leaders and teams across the country, you will provide expert advice on brand governance, audience engagement, content strategy, channel performance and reputational risk. You will oversee Police’s social media, website and app presence, along with marketing and advertising programmes that support organisational priorities and community outcomes. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, strengthen team capability and lead continuous improvement across content, publishing and channel operations. Ensuring communications are aligned, audience-focused and effective, you will play a key role in enhancing public trust and confidence while supporting New Zealand Police to achieve its strategic objectives. To be successful in this role you will: Take a strategic approach to planning and prioritising, know how to build trust and confidence in our diverse communities Demonstrate strategic thinking and sound judgement in complex and ambiguous environments Influence and advise senior stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes Leads through change and drives continuous improvement Understand our audience and tailor communication accordingly A relevant tertiary qualification at Bachelors level (NZQF Level 7) in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Communications or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant professional experience (Essential) Postgraduate qualification (NZQF Level 8) in above mentioned specialty or a related field. (desirable) Demonstratable extensive experience in communications, media, marketing, digital engagement, content strategy or related disciplines. Demonstrated success leading communications, marketing or digital functions and delivering large‑scale strategic initiatives This role is based in the Wellington area. Some travel will be required.
