Protection Technician

About the Role We're looking for a Protection Technician to join our Christchurch team. Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll carry out the testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding of protection systems and substation equipment across the network. This is a varied role offering exposure to new projects, maintenance work, and fault response while supporting critical electrical infrastructure. You'll be involved in: Testing and commissioning substation and protection equipment Fault finding, maintenance, and repair of protection systems Commissioning zone substation protection schemes and associated equipment Preparing inspection and test documentation and supporting project delivery Supporting standby, fault response, and travel when required About You You'll thrive in this role if you have: Registered Electrician with a current practising licence, or a Level 5 Power Technician qualification or equivalent Experience in protection testing, commissioning, substations, or a related electrical environment Knowledge of protection relays or Omicron testing equipment is advantageous What's on Offer Competitive salary + overtime + standby allowances Varied work across maintenance, commissioning, and fault response Modern Christchurch office with onsite parking Health and wellbeing perks including flu vaccines, annual skin checks, and mini medicals Career development and ongoing technical training Please note: Connetics requires all successful applicants to complete a pre-employment Ministry of Justice check, along with a medical assessment including a drug and alcohol test. #J-18808-Ljbffr
