Anaesthetist | New Zealand About the Role We are seeking experienced Specialist Anaesthetists to support the delivery of safe, high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care across elective and acute services for multiple roles available throughout New Zealand. These roles will suit a clinician who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is committed to excellent patient outcomes, clinical safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe and effective anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgical procedures . Undertake preoperative assessment and support post-operative care . Provide perioperative medicine support in collaboration with surgical, medical, nursing, and allied health teams . Contribute to acute pain services and, where applicable, provide intensive care support . Participate in on-call rosters as required by the service. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with local and national clinical guidelines . Engage in clinical governance , audit , teaching , and quality improvement activities . Contribute to a positive team culture focused on patient safety , communication , and continuous improvement . Requirements Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand . Fellowship or equivalent specialist qualification in Anaesthesia, such as FANZCA or an equivalent recognised qualification. Proven experience working independently as a Specialist Anaesthetist . Strong communication , clinical judgement , and teamwork skills . Commitment to high standards of patient care , clinical safety , and professional practice . Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment .
