Mechanic

Join a passionate team delivering diverse civil construction projects throughout Northland as one of our onsite mechanics. About the role: We are seeking a mechanic that is motivated with a can-do attitude to repair and service our light and heavy fleet with preference being an experienced and qualified mechanic but would potentially also look at an apprentice. We have a range of light vehicles (utes, cars and vans), heavy machinery (trucks, diggers, rollers, loaders, graders etc), small plant (generators, plate compactors etc). Our fleet consists of electric, petrol and diesel equipment. You will be part of a small team that includes two other workshop mechanics and a storeperson. You will report to the workshop/fleet manager. The role includes, but is not limited to: Ensuring vehicles and machinery are maintained, serviced, safe and operational at all times and in a timely manner. This will be done both out onsite and within our workshop. Attend emergency fleet breakdowns. Coordinate parts/materials to repair/service plant as directed. Determine fleet condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts, and make recommendations for replacement and utilisation to the senior mechanic. Organising WOF/COF of plant as directed. Maintain workshop cleanliness and repair workshop equipment as necessary. Maintain fleet appearance by cleaning, washing and painting. Maintain records of work performed.
