Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson - 3D Solidworks Mechanical Draftsperson / CAD Designer (SolidWorks) Primero is a leading plate cutting and metal processing company specialising in fast turnaround solutions for a diverse range of industries. We are currently looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and hardworking Mechanical Draftsperson / CAD Designer (SolidWorks) to join our Tauranga team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing customer drawings, producing manufacturing-ready CAD files, estimating materials, and supporting our production team to ensure jobs are delivered accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have the following: Relevant NZQF qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, Drafting, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years' relevant industry experience. Ability to prepare and interpret complex 2D and 3D technical drawings. Experience using SolidWorks in a manufacturing or engineering environment (preferred). Experience within plate processing, laser cutting, sheet metal, fabrication, structural steel, or a related manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous. Understanding of material take-offs, estimating, and manufacturing processes. Strong customer service skills with a solution-focused approach. Adaptable, open to change and new learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid work visa).
