Driller’s Assistant – Entry Level Position Topdrill Limited is looking for a reliable and hardworking Driller’s Assistant to join our geotechnical drilling team based in Tauranga. This is an entry level position and no previous drilling experience is required. You will learn on the job while working alongside experienced drillers on a wide variety of geotechnical investigation projects. This is an entry level position and no previous drilling experience is required. You will learn on the job while working alongside experienced drillers on a wide variety of geotechnical investigation projects. About the Role The role is mainly Monday to Friday however, regular out of town work and overnight stays will be required. Your duties will include: Assisting the driller with the day to day operation of geotechnical drilling equipment Handling drill rods, tooling and soil or rock samples Setting up and packing down drilling sites Cleaning and maintaining drilling equipment, vehicles and work areas Following site health and safety procedures Working outdoors in a range of weather and ground conditions What We’re Looking For The successful applicant will: Hold a current full New Zealand driver licence Be physically fit and comfortable with manual work Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn Have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team Be comfortable working outdoors and travelling for work Be able to pass pre employment drug and alcohol testing A Class 4 driver licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
