Early Childhood Teacher

Mini Miners is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team in Thames Waikato. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in shaping the early learning experiences of young children in our care. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for creating nurturing, stimulating environments that foster children's development across all areas of learning. This role is central to our mission of providing high-quality early childhood education and care that supports each child's unique developmental journey. Key responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate learning experiences based on each child's interests, abilities and developmental stage Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that supports children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development Observe, assess and document children's learning and progress, sharing meaningful insights with families Build positive relationships with children and families, maintaining open communication about each child's experiences and development Support children's well-being by attending to their health, safety and nutritional needs throughout the day Collaborate with colleagues to implement centre policies and maintain high standards of early childhood education practice Participate in professional development and stay current with early childhood education best practices Manage resources effectively and maintain a clean, organised learning environment Support transitions and special routines such as mealtimes, rest periods and outdoor play What we’re looking for A recognised early childhood teaching qualification Current, valid New Zealand teaching registration with the Teaching Council Demonstrated commitment to child-centred, play-based learning approaches Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment Knowledge of Te Whāriki (New Zealand's early childhood curriculum) and commitment to bicultural practice A genuine passion for early childhood education and a child's wellbeing Current First Aid certification and willingness to maintain up-to-date training Experience working with diverse groups of children and families is advantageous Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support the professional development of others What we offer Mini Miners is committed to supporting our team members to thrive professionally and personally.
