About the role - Executive/ Senior Manager Enterprise Risk We are seeking a senior risk professional with the ability to pick up the role responsibilities quickly and thrive in this newly created, fast-paced role. The role is focused on developing enterprise-level risk strategy and architecture that facilitate the prudent delivery of the bank’s overall strategy and outstanding customer outcomes, as well as ensuring strong delivery and risk management discipline is in place to achieve these strategic priorities. This role will suit a strategic leader who is keen to get involved in the hands on day-to-day running of the bank’s risk management through a period of exciting transformation in CCB New Zealand risk management journey. Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, industry best practice, and the Bank’s strategic objectives. Maintain effective risk governance, policies, standards, and methodologies across enterprise risk disciplines. Champion the maturity of non-financial risk, embedding a strong risk culture and supporting the effective operation of the Three Lines Model. Maintain a cohesive risk taxonomy and Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), including risk appetite statements, metrics, limits, and escalation triggers. Monitor the Bank’s risk profile against approved risk appetite, providing actionable insights on emerging risk trends. Coordinate enterprise risk reporting to Senior Management, the Risk Management Committee, and the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (BARCC). Facilitate enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting—including leading regular Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and maintaining the enterprise risk register. Drive an effective risk assurance programme across the organization. Operational Resilience, Cyber & Data Risk Provide second-line oversight of operational resilience, technology risk, and cyber risk management. Support cyber resilience testing, incident management, and post-incident lessons-learned activities. Oversee data risk management, encompassing data governance, quality, integrity, and critical data controls. Capital, Stress Testing & Recovery Planning Lead enterprise-wide stress testing and scenario analysis for both regulatory and internal stress testing programmes. Evaluate the impact of stressed scenarios on capital, liquidity, profitability, and business strategy. Support the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), ensuring proper identification and assessment of material risks. Support recovery planning and evaluate the Bank’s resilience under adverse operating conditions. Climate Risk Management Drive the maturity of the Bank’s climate risk management framework and lead annual climate disclosures. Coordinate climate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and the integration of climate considerations into core risk processes. Model Risk Management Oversee the Model Risk Management Framework, ensuring robust governance across model inventory, classification, validation, performance monitoring, and limitations. Provide effective challenge on model assumptions, methodologies, and practical applications. Reputational & Strategic Risk Provide oversight of reputational risk, evaluating significant decisions, incidents, and relevant external developments. Support management in assessing strategic risks and their potential impact on the Bank’s reputation, stakeholders, and long-term sustainability. Ensure all material risks are appropriately identified, escalated, and managed. Emerging Risks Management Monitor regulatory, geopolitical, technological, and macroeconomic developments to identify emerging risks. Drive proactive responses to current and emerging risks, delivering forward-looking insights to Senior Management and governance forums. Regulatory Engagement Provide overflow support for the regulatory affairs and projects function. Maintain a thorough understanding of evolving prudential requirements and industry developments. Cross-Functional Leadership & Continuous Improvement Act as a trusted advisor to Senior Management and key stakeholders on enterprise-wide risk matters. Promote effective challenge, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. Lead and participate in strategic enterprise risk initiatives and cross-functional projects. Uplift risk capability and culture across the risk team and the wider Bank (e.g., designing and running training programmes). Key Experience & Capabilities Significant experience in banking or financial services risk management. Ability to take a holistic, strategic view and articulate a future vision, backed by the skills and passion to execute it effectively. Confidence and proven experience in drawing on best practice to establish new risk strategies, frameworks, and processes. Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and prudential regulatory expectations. Experience in risk appetite, ICAAP, stress testing, and regulatory engagement highly preferred. Understanding of operational resilience, cyber risk, data governance, model risk, and climate risk is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex risk issues clearly. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and sound judgement skills. Familiarity with complex change projects, alongside experience in managing emerging risks and large strategic risk transformations, is preferred. Proficiency in modeling and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, SAS, Tableau, Power BI / Reporting Services) is a plus.
