Job Description

The Role: Auckland's water infrastructure is under real, visible pressure — population growth, ageing pipe networks, and increasingly severe weather events. If you want engineering work with actual community impact rather than abstract box-ticking, this is it: the projects you touch directly affect how the city copes with flooding, growth, and climate resilience. What Makes This One Worth Applying For: Meaningful, visible work — not just technical design in a vacuum Mix of new infrastructure and upgrades to ageing networks, so genuine variety Chance to specialise in stormwater/wastewater, a space with strong long‑term demand Real client and community‑facing exposure, not just deskbound modelling Responsibilities: Technical studies, design, and reporting for stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, and wider three‑waters projects Input into proposals and project planning Managing or contributing to design packages, working to programme and budget Liaising with clients, councils, and project stakeholders Technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers (Senior level) About You: Tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering Experience in stormwater, wastewater, or wider three‑waters infrastructure CPEng status (or equivalent) preferred for Senior‑level applicants Experience managing projects through to construction phase (Senior level) Other Roles Available: We're also recruiting Water Engineers across Auckland at other levels — Graduate through to Principal and Technical Director — covering Auckland CBD, Newmarket, Pukekohe, and Rosedale.
