This Intern placement can bebased in Nelson or Wairau. About the Role The role of the Clinical Psychologist Intern (Child and Family) includessupervised and independent experience in assessment, diagnosis, formulation anduse of a range of psychological therapies.The Intern position is offered as part of Ministry of Health support forthe Psychology workforce. The Intern will be supported to continue the requirements of theircourse, including full-time pay to support study leave during the year. There will also be opportunities to attend extra specific training asthey occur through the year, e.g. Intro to Clinical Supervision, suicideprevention, etc. Interns will have a supervising senior psychologist to monitorand support them as they apply their academic learning to clinical practice. Aswell, there are peer, multidisciplinary meetings and professional meetings forcase discussion and consultation, and ongoing education on specific topics. This is a fixed term, full-time Internship role for 12 months, working 80 perfortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00AM and 4.30PM. Startsin 2027. The successful applicant will be offered a 1.0FTE position for a fullyear; exact dates to be negotiated in accordance with course requirements. About the Team/Service/ Location Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS)is a specialist mental health team providing assessment and treatment forpeople up to 18 years who present with moderate to severe mental healthproblems. There are four ICAMHS teams,Nelson, Motueka, Golden Bay and Wairau. We have greatmultidisciplinary teams consisting of psychology, nursing, social work,occupational therapy, support workers and psychiatry. For more information on livingand working in Nelson/Tasman click here About you As a Clinical Psychologist Intern (Child and family) youwill: Have self-motivation, a positive attitude andcooperative well in teams, Hold a current Intern Practising Certificatefrom NZ Psychologists Board, Practice within Intern scope of practice, Comply with the Health NZ (Nelson Marlborough)Intern position description, Have regular weekly on site supervision by aSenior Psychologist. Applicants willbe enrolled in a Clinical or Psychology training programme and have completedthe necessary pre-requisites to undertake their Intern year. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in NewZealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
