As part of our growth, we are recruiting for an Customer Service / International Import Operator based in either of our Christchurch or Invercargill offices. Job Summary The Customer Service / International Freight Operator is responsible for managing import/export shipments (air and sea) from order placement through to final delivery, ensuring accurate documentation, timely communication, and high levels of customer service. The role requires close coordination with internal teams, overseas agents, and transport providers to deliver efficient and compliant freight operations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Liaise with clients regarding import /export orders (Air and Sea freight) Coordinate with the Manila team for registering, entering, and compiling operational tasks Place orders with overseas offices, agents, and suppliers Monitor the collection and accuracy of all required import/ export documentation Oversee and track shipments from origin through to final delivery Liaise with Shipping Lines, Airlines, Freight Forwarders, Suppliers, and Transport Companies Prepare and provide pricing for FCL, LCL, and Airfreight shipments Manage client invoicing, including collation and entry of expenses Perform general office administration duties as required Skills and Competencies Strong customer service focus and communication skills Sound knowledge of import freight operations (air and sea) Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously Attention to detail, particularly in documentation and compliance Good problem-solving and coordination skills Ability to work collaboratively with internal and offshore teams Competent in Microsoft Office and freight management systems (e.g., CargoWise preferred) Effective time management and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
