About the role We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Operator for placement at one of our client's sites in Christchurch. You will operate, set up, and monitor machinery for food production, ensuring the consistent and efficient running of machines to maximise production volumes while maintaining quality and safety standards Working Hours: Working days: Monday to Friday Morning shift: 6.30am to 3.30pm (Shift timing might varies depending on the production needs) Key responsibilities Prepare and set up equipment in the wet room at the start of each shift to ensure smooth operations. Add materials to the grinding machine according to established specifications and production criteria (approximately half of the workday). Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs of wet room equipment as required. Set up and adjust labeling machines based on the dimensions and specifications of different can sizes. Conduct quality control inspections of labels, including verification of placement, accuracy, and can dimensions/perimeters. Coordinate with Quality Control checkers to ensure labeled products meet quality and compliance standards. Willingness to learn and confidently step in to cover the role of another operator when required. About you Food manufacturing/production background preferred Pet food industry background is good to have not essential Physically fit and comfortable standing for extended periods, with the ability to lift and move heavy objects safely. Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve production and machinery issues safely and pragmatically High level of reliability with a strong work ethic and commitment to attendance Strong commitment to health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team What’s in it for you Opportunity to progress within the company Good market pays for the right candidate.
