About Us A staple in the community for more than 60 years, at Bishops Dental Surgery, we're more than just a dental practice—we're a close-knit team that genuinely cares about our patients and each other. A family-owned practice, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and team members feel valued. We believe that great people can learn great skills. That's why we're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help others. Experience is welcome, but it's not essential. About the Role As a Dental Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping our dentists provide exceptional care while ensuring every patient has a positive experience from the moment they arrive. No two days are the same. You'll work closely with our clinical team, assist during dental procedures, prepare treatment rooms, maintain high infection control standards, and help keep the practice running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in dentistry or join a supportive team where ongoing learning and development are encouraged. What You'll Be Doing Assisting dentists through a wide range of dental procedures. Supporting patients before, during and after treatment. Preparing treatment rooms before each appointment. Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment. Following infection prevention and sterilisation protocols. Maintaining accurate clinical records. Stocking treatment rooms and monitoring clinical supplies. Ensuring smooth patient flow through reception, assisting in booking, and taking payments. Helping maintain a clean, organised and professional workplace. Pitching in wherever needed to support the team. What We're Looking For While experience is valued, we believe the right attitude is the most important quality for success in this role. We can teach the different aspects of dentistry, but we can't teach a genuine passion for helping others, a strong work ethic, or the positive attitude that makes a team thrive. You'll be someone who: Has a positive, can-do attitude. Enjoys helping people and making them feel comfortable. Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work. Learns quickly and enjoys developing new skills. Works well as part of a team, and communicates professionally and kindly. Is organised and pays attention to detail. Stays calm and adaptable in a busy environment. Takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked. Experience & Qualifications Previous dental assisting experience is welcomed but not required . We value the right person over the perfect CV. Whether you've worked in healthcare, hospitality, customer service, childcare, retail, or are looking for a new career, we'd love to hear from you if you're enthusiastic and eager to learn. If successful, we'll provide the training and support you need to become a confident member of our clinical team. What We Offer A supportive family-owned workplace. Full training and ongoing mentoring. Opportunities for professional development. A positive team culture where everyone is respected. Variety in your day and the opportunity to build new skills. The chance to make a genuine difference in our patients' lives. If This Sounds Like You If you're someone who enjoys helping others, loves learning new skills, and wants to be part of a supportive team where your attitude matters more than your experience, we'd love to hear from you. Bring your enthusiasm—we'll help you build the rest. #J-18808-Ljbffr
