Head Chef Wanted

Good Neighbour Brew Bar – Thames, North Island We are looking for a Head Chef to lead our very popular Restaurant and Bar in the beautiful Cooks Beach. We are an established institution in the region and are pumping all summer long. This role offers great hours and allows you to live by the famous Cooks Beach. Outside of the peak summer period we operate on a 4 day week. As Head Chef you will support owners to create a menu for the best bistro in the region. We are already renowned for our gastro pub atmosphere and great vibes in the sun. Proven ability at Kitchen Management. Control and direct the food preparation process and menu construction in conjunction with the owners and kitchen team. Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety procedures. Responsible for ordering, cost control and waste control. Outstanding communication and leadership skills. Full Job description available. You will have a passion for not only good food, but be able to work in a team, handle a fast-paced environment with ease, stay calm under pressure & enjoy a fun family atmosphere. Along with exceptional communication skills, you must comply with NZ rules and regulations for food hygiene, safety and sanitation. If required we have accommodation options to make your move to Cooks Beach as easy as possible. We will be happy to discuss this with you at interview stage. Position is full-time with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. You will have good communication skills in both written and spoken English. You will also have a qualification in culinary skills that meets or exceeds the requirements of the NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Culinary Skills or City and Guilds 7100 Level 3 Diploma.
