The Champion Centre – Christchurch, South Island The position is permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week, however we are willing to consider part-time or job share, with the option to work term time only. Supporting children to achieve their potential Equipping families with lifelong tools Fostering supportive adaptive communities Recognising and optimising children’s individual learning capabilities About the Role We are seeking a committed Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team, working alongside whānau, Physiotherapists, OTs, EITs, SLTs, Music Therapists, Psychologists and others. Our approach is strengths-based, collaborative, coaching-oriented, and relationship-focused , partnering with whānau to build practical capability and confidence to support their child’s development every day. You will: Deliver strengths-based developmentally informed Social Work / Family Support Services alongside whānau Support the multi-disciplinary teamwithall areas of Family Support needs, to best support outcomes for child and whānau. Workto empower the family to ensure advocacy forappropriate ongoingservices to meet their needs About You You will bring: A recognised qualification under the current requirements of the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB), and full registration (or eligibility) with the SWRB An understanding of the impacts of raising a child with disabilities and a passion for this work Competence working with Māori and Pacific Island families and sensitivity to specific cultural needs A deep understanding of Te Ao Māori and tikanga Good understanding of ethics, confidentiality, assessment and support The ability to contribute to a positive team environment by being supportive and respectful and engaging in reflective practice.
