Technology Procurement Lead – Consulting & Government Location: Wellington (hybrid working available) Type: Permanent The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Technology Procurement Lead with a strong consulting and government background to support complex, high?value technology sourcing initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who has operated in professional services and public sector environments, advising senior stakeholders on technology commercial strategy, sourcing, and procurement. You’ll work on multiple large?scale, complex technology programmes, leading sourcing activity across software, cloud, and digital services, and helping clients make defensible, value?driven investment decisions. What You’ll Be Doing Lead end?to?end technology procurement and sourcing engagements in consulting and government contexts Design and deliver technology sourcing strategies aligned to public sector and enterprise procurement frameworks Run RFx processes, market engagement, supplier evaluations, and complex commercial negotiations Partner with technology, legal, finance, and policy stakeholders to translate technical requirements into commercially sound procurement outcomes Advise on cloud, SaaS, and modern licensing models, with a strong focus on risk, value for money, and contract robustness Negotiate and review contracts, including pricing models, SLAs, service schedules, and exit provisions Manage senior vendor relationships and support contract performance post?award Provide trusted procurement advice on major programmes and transformations About You This role will suit someone who has built their career in consulting, government, or advisory environments, rather than purely operational procurement. 6+ years’ experience in technology procurement, commercial advisory, or IT sourcing, ideally within a consulting firm or government agency Strong understanding of public sector procurement, governance, and probity requirements Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, SaaS, and enterprise software licensing models Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including executives and programme leaders Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing and documentation for senior audiences Experience working across regulated environments or major transformation programmes will be highly regarded.
