Location: Auckland

Job type: Full time at minimum 30 hours per week.

Hourly rate: $27-$36 per hour.

Duration: Permanent

We are looking for 1 full-time chef de partie to look after our daily kitchen duties at this newly established Chiense restaurant.

\n

This offer is a full-time position with minimum 30 hours per week based on shifts.

  • Prepare, cook, and present menu items within the assigned kitchen section to a consistently high standard.
  • \n
  • Take responsibility for the daily operation of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring timely and efficient food production.
  • \n
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes, portion sizes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards.
  • \n
  • Assist in planning menus and developing new dishes in consultation with the manager.
  • \n
  • Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service, making adjustments where necessary to maintain consistency.
  • \n
  • Supervise, train, and provide guidance to Chef, Cook, and Kitchen Hands working within the section.
  • \n
  • Coordinate workflow during busy service periods to ensure meals are prepared and served promptly.
  • \n
  • Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • \n
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels within the assigned section and assist with ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies.
  • \n
  • Minimise food waste through effective stock rotation, portion control, and proper storage procedures.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • \n
  • Monitor the operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment and report faults when required.
  • \n
  • Assist with stocktakes and inventory control to support efficient kitchen operations.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • \n
  • Assist with catering functions, special events, and seasonal menu promotions as required.
  • \n
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of kitchen procedures and food quality.
  • \n
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position as directed by the manager.

Role Requirements:

\n

• Certificate in Cookery;

\n

OR

\n

• Bachelor or above at any fields;

\n

OR

\n

• 2 year working experiences in kitchecn or other relevant fields;

\n

AND

\n

• Flexibility around working hours on weekends and holidays;

\n

• No criminal convictions

\n
