Job Description
Mechanical Engineer – FEA and Asset Integrity (Junior / Intermediate) You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver advanced FEA and engineering analysis for complex assets and systems, primarily in the hydro-generation space but also across other industries. This role blends hands-on analysis and design with exposure to project management, client interaction, and commercial activities. Key responsibilities Developing and running FEA models for complex systems (stress, fatigue, fracture, and vibration analysis) Conducting fatigue studies and fracture mechanics analyses Supporting Fitness for Service (FFS) assessments using FEA and stress analysis results Assisting with CFD analyses (preferably in Fluent or similar) where relevant Preparing clear, high-quality technical reports for internal teams and clients Supporting design engineering tasks and optimisation studies Assisting with management and direction of NDT service providers, including site visits as required About you Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent); PhD in FEA / computational mechanics / fatigue & fracture / related area is highly desirable Demonstrated experience with Advanced FEA through academic research, internships, or industry work (early-career or intermediate level) Experience with ANSYS is desirable; proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality technical documentation A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary environment Willingness to visit client sites and project locations as required About us Re-Generate is a specialist energy and water solutions business headquartered in Christchurch, with an additional office in New Plymouth.
