Clinical Dietitian - Clinical Dietitian Service based at Palmerston North Hospital Fixed term (6 months) | 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) Palmerston North Hospital Help shape the future of cancer- related nutrition services. This six-month fixed-term opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact on how nutrition care is delivered for people affected by cancer across our region. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, patients, whānau and key stakeholders, you will review current nutrition pathways, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop recommendations that strengthen equitable, evidence-based nutrition care closer to home. This is an ideal role for an experienced dietitian who enjoys combining clinical expertise with service improvement, quality initiatives and collaborative project work. About the Role In this role you will: Undertake the scoping and mapping of nutrition care pathways across the MidCentral cancer treatment services. Review current models of care for dietetic input across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Identify service gaps and opport unities to improve access, coordination and continuity of nutrition care. Engage with clinicians, patients, whānau and key stakeholders to understand current pathways and future needs. Develop recommendations that support best practice nutrition care and improve patient outcomes. Work collaboratively with oncology, surgical, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, primary care and community services. Contribute to service development initiatives that improve equitable nutrition care for people living with cancer. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Registration with the New Zealand Dietitians Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate. Endorsement as a Dietitian Prescriber. Significant clinical dietetic experience, preferably within oncology or complex adult nutrition. Experience in quality improvement, service development or clinical pathway redesign. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. A collaborative approach with the ability to influence change across multidisciplinary teams. A commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities we serve. A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
