This role will also have a specific responsibility for leading and teaching Pharmacology teaching and learning across the suite of health professional programmes in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences. Key Responsibilities | Nga haepapa matua Lead and teach Pharmacology teaching and learning in the School of Nursing and across allied health disciplines. Desire to develop a programme of research. Contribute to ongoing curriculum development. Communicate effectively and show a commitment to a collaborative team environment. Commit to ongoing professional development supported by the AUT staff development programme. Your contributions to programme and course development will support our continuous-improvement focus. You will teach across programmes as assigned by the Head of School and be comfortable using digital resources to enhance learning. You will publish actively in your specialised field/s. The selection criteria sought are: Qualification: A PhD in a related health field. Registered Nurse in Aotearoa New Zealand Research: An early career academic will have the basis of a solid research pipeline and a job market paper available. More experienced candidates will already have a more established research programme and a proven research track record with quality publications and ideally also success in external funding. Evidence of proactively pursuing external research income is desirable. (Lecturers) Evidence of securing or contributing to external research income is desirable. (Senior Lecturers) Teaching: An early career academic will ideally have at least some previous teaching assistant experience. More experienced candidates will have previous lecturing experience, evidence of curriculum development and preferably experience supervising Masters and/or PhD students. (For Associate Professors/Professors) Qualification: A PhD in a related health field Registered Nurse in Aotearoa New Zealand Research and Scholarship: Extensive experience leading and driving Pharmacology research, with a strong publication record in top-tier journals Established international research networks and demonstrated potential or experience securing external research funding Proven ability to build and sustain collaborative research partnerships across academia and industry Editorial board membership and/or experience as an editor, guest editor or conference track chair Teaching and Learning: Substantial undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience in Pharmacology, including course and assessment design, delivery, and coordination Ability to engage with students in innovative and engaging ways Ability to contribute to curriculum innovation and the development of high-quality course content Ability to design and deliver innovative assessments Proven ability to attract and supervise postgraduate research students Citizenship and Service: Experience supporting Indigenous, equity or inclusion-focused initiatives, with the capability to support the AUT’s Te Aronui Framework Demonstrated academic leadership and service – either internally or externally Experience engaging internationally with industry, government and community stakeholders to translate and apply research Proven ability to communicate research to non-academic audiences, including through media engagement Start Date: as soon as possible Salary Ranges | Ngā Utu: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer: $94,000 - $151,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience), Associate Professor/Professor: $151,000 - $214,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience).
