Outdoor Experiential Learning Instructor

Our team of instructors are highly skilled across a range of technical disciplines as well as being excellent, experiential education facilitators. The breadth of work is huge – one day may be with a group of corporate executives, the next with a school aged group, and the next with an international group of visitors. The variety provides for engaging work opportunities, for a real richness in our work and also requires a high level of flexibility, adaptability and creativity. We work hard, we work long hours, there are overnights away and we often work in challenging environments – this can be tough. The rewards, however make it all worthwhile. We are currently looking to grow the instructor team and invest in bringing some new members to the team over the coming months. You will be joining an experienced team of 16 instructors leading well-established and varied experiential learning, outdoor programmes. You will bring passion, a positive attitude and experience facilitating programmes in the outdoors. You will already have a few years’ experience instructing in the outdoors and will hold relevant outdoor instructing qualifications. You must hold multiple NZOIA Leader awards (or equivalent), or at least one NZOIA Level 1 or above award in either Sea Kayak, Rock, Bush or Cave. You must have held a full NZ driver licence for a minimum of 2 years and be eligible to gain a Passenger endorsement. Additionally, you should be willing to work towards gaining a Class 2 (Bus) licence. All positions will be required to undergo a Police Vetting check as per the Whenua Iti Outdoors' Child Protection Policy.
