About the Role The Cardiac Cath Lab at Christchurch Hospital is looking for an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join the team on a casual basis. We are looking for a flexible thinking MIT to work in this exciting, high-pressure environment within an experienced team. In this role, you will: Provide high-quality imaging services, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and protocols Understand and apply techniques like Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), and Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) for heart and vessel imaging Confirm patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure informed consent, Maintain patient privacy and cultural sensitivity Complete administrative tasks with a high level of detail in a timely manner Participate in professional development, training, and research projects Actively contribute to continuous improvement in service quality About You You will have previous experience working in a Cath Lab environment, bringing with you contemporary imaging knowledge and a strong commitment to further developing your expertise in this specialised setting. You must hold current New Zealand registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist. This position suits an experienced, fast learner who communicates clearly, works collaboratively, and thrives within an inter'disciplinary clinical team. You take pride in maintaining high clinical standards, embrace ongoing learning, and contribute positively to a supportive and efficient Cath Lab service. To be successful in this position you will also demonstrate the following: Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse range of people Ability to work under pressure Demonstrated ability to work in a MDT, with a team player attitude Knowledge of te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
