Magnetic Recruitment – Ashhurst, North Island Estimator – Steel Fabrication & Heavy Engineering Turn enquiries into projects and play a key role in keeping production moving. We're looking for an experienced Estimatorto join a well-established steel fabrication and engineering business based inAshhurst. This is a hands‑on role where you'll be at the centre of project delivery, preparing accurate quotations, managing a steady workflow, and helping secure work that keeps the workshop and site teams busy. If you're organised, commercially minded, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, this could be the opportunity you're looking for. What you'll be doing: Preparing accurate and competitive quotes for fabrication and engineering projects ranging from $1,000 to $100,000 Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements Building labour, material, and subcontractor pricing using established estimating systems Working closely with the Senior Estimator, production, and operations teams to ensure smooth project handovers Managing multiple tenders and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Supporting continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems What we're looking for: Previous estimating experience within steel fabrication, engineering, manufacturing, or construction Strong Excel capability and confidence working with ERP or job management systems Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to work collaboratively across the business What's on offer: Competitive salary package Southern Cross medical insurance Stable Monday to Friday role with no shift work Support and mentoring from an experienced estimating and operations team Opportunity to join a respected business with a strong reputation in the industry A role where your contribution has a direct impact on project success and business growth Next Steps: Ready for your next move?
