About theRole As a key memberof our Emergency Medicine team, you will play an essential role in providingcomprehensive emergency care to patients in Marlborough region. The departmentoffers a broad range of emergency presentations, giving you the opportunity topractise the full scope of emergency medicine in a collegial and well-supportedenvironment. You will workrostered shifts across Monday to Sunday, including morning, afternoon, andweekend shifts. In addition, you will participate in an after-hours on-callroster as part of a well-structured team. You will also contribute to thesupervision and training of registrars, house officers, and medical students,and play a key role in the continued development of our service. About theTeam/Service/Location WairauHospital's ED provides 24/7 emergency care to a diverse patient population. Itcurrently operates under increasing demand 'the department sees 65 patients aday. This equates broadly to more than 22,000 presentations per annum, andlikely more as the population grows. Our ED teamdelivers comprehensive acute care, managing a wide range of medical, surgical,trauma, and paediatric emergencies. We work closely with inpatient teams,primary care providers, and retrieval services to ensure seamless patient careacross the region. You will becomepart of a strong team of FACEMs, emergency medicine medical officers, andEmergency nursing staff, supported by an excellent multidisciplinary teamacross the hospital. About you The idealapplicant will: Hold FACEM or an equivalent qualification. Have postgraduate fellowship training (preferred). Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificateand vocational scope of Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of NewZealand. Have Emergency Medicine experience and knowledge ofthe unique demands in a provincial hospital.
