St Oran’s College is looking for a dedicated and energetic Grounds-Property Assistant to join our team and help keep our campus looking its absolute best for our 504 students, teachers, support staff and school whānau. In this role, you will be the heart of our college gardens and grounds. Your mission is to ensure our environment is always tidy, welcoming, and bursting with life. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety from nurturing delicate annuals to keeping our hard surfaces spotless. What You’ll Be Doing: Creating Beauty: Maintaining tidy gardens and ensuring a succession of colour throughout the year, including planting and caring for annuals and verandah tubs. Garden Care: Handling irrigation, hedge trimming, mulching, and minor pruning of trees and roses. A Total Team Player: Assisting with mowing (both hand and ride-on mowers), helping with school security (open/close duties), and collaborating with our friendly property staff. Maintenance & Care: Keeping hard surfaces clear of litter and leaves, hosing down buildings to remove salt build-up, and ensuring our equipment is in top-notch working order. On the Move: Occasional driving of the college van or car for school duties. Start Date: Monday, 31 August 2026 Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Reporting: You will report daily to the Property Manager and be responsible to the Principal and Executive Officer. Remuneration: Remuneration is dependent on experience and based on the MOE Caretakers, Cleaners and Canteen Staff Collective Agreement. What We’re Looking For: We need someone with an eye for detail who can make recommendations for garden layouts and improvements. You should be comfortable using garden machinery, have a valid driver's license, and be committed to high standards of health and safety. #J-18808-Ljbffr
