QS Manager - Make the move to Queenstown! Inhouse Recruitment – Christchurch, South Island Brownie Construction is expanding its Queenstown operation and strengthening its commercial leadership capability. With a strong secured pipeline and a major multi-unit residential development underway, this is an opportunity to step into a senior role with genuine ownership and influence. This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll be actively involved in the day-to-day commercial delivery of projects, while also stepping into a leadership position as the team grows. You’ll be working closely alongside one other QS, taking ownership of key commercial functions on site, while contributing to the development of the wider commercial structure. If you’re currently operating at Senior QS level and looking for a role that combines delivery, ownership and progression into leadership, this is that move. The role You will take ownership of the commercial performance of projects from early planning through to delivery. Working closely with directors, project managers and site teams, you will drive cost control, manage risk, and ensure strong commercial outcomes across the build. Key focus areas include: End to end commercial management across projects Cost control, forecasting and financial reporting Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and management Variations, claims and final accounts Head contract administration and commercial risk management Supporting value engineering and margin protection Leading commercial performance on site Mentoring and developing junior and intermediate QS staff What we’re looking for 7+ years’ experience in quantity surveying within the NZ construction market Proven experience delivering medium to large commercial or multi-unit residential projects Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and commercial frameworks Comfortable operating at a senior level with autonomy and accountability Experience within a tier one or well-structured contractor highly regarded Leadership capability or readiness to step into a leadership role What’s on offer Up to $185k for the right candidate Vehicle or vehicle allowance, phone and laptop Strong pipeline of secured work Long-term opportunity with stability Senior role with real influence, not just responsibility Queenstown lifestyle without compromising your career If you’re currently operating at a senior level and looking for more ownership, visibility and progression, this is an opportunity to step up.
