Registered Nurse, District Addictions Services (Manawatu Locality) North Island - Manawatu / Whanganui – Manawatu County Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities. The Opportunity Based within the Manawatu Locality Service with a focus on supporting whaiora requiring specialist addiction support. You will have an alignment with the Opiate Substitution Team (OST) and Alcohol and other Drugs (AoD) programs based primarily in Manawatu, with reach in to support whaiora and impacted whanau within Tararua and Horowhenua based clinics. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge and skill in the management of adults who present with co-existing mental health and substance use disorders, assessment and treatment planning of those requiring medical detox and opiate substitution stabilisation and ongoing community support of those with complex overlapping dependencies to various substances. The role will also include the capacity to respond within an integrated treatment approach for those who would benefit from addiction nursing support inside the wider mental health services.
