Beyond Recruitment – Wellington Central, North Island Are you an experienced cyber security professional who thrives on balancing risk, assurance, and business outcomes? We’re looking for a Cyber Assurance Specialist to play a critical role in strengthening security across a large, complex organisation. As a trusted security advisor, you'll provide expert guidance to stakeholders, support major projects and programmes, and help ensure information security controls are designed and operating effectively. You'll lead certification and accreditation activities, influence security decision-making, and contribute to the development of enterprise-wide security standards, frameworks, and best practices. What You'll Be Doing Lead cyber security assurance activities across projects and programmes. Conduct security risk assessments and certification & accreditation (C&A) activities. Provide expert advice on security architecture, policies, standards, and controls. Assess and communicate business risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support the development of security frameworks, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Evaluate third-party vendors and external service providers from a security perspective. Measure, monitor, and report on the effectiveness of security controls. Partner with project, change, and release teams to ensure security is embedded throughout delivery. Mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. What You'll Bring Strong experience in cyber security risk, assurance, governance, or security architecture. Deep understanding of information security frameworks, controls, and risk management practices. Experience delivering security assurance for large-scale technology projects. Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences. Experience with security accreditation, audit, compliance, or certification processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to influence outcomes. Why Apply?
